Call to Worship (after the verdict)

Let your tears fall for Trayvon, and the broken hearts of his friends and family.

Let your tears fall for George Zimmerman, who has taken the life of a child; who knows in his heart the truth of his actions; who will be judged by others all the days of his life no matter the result of the trial.

Let your tears fall for your own broken heart, you who work and pray for justice.

But for now, come fully into our sanctuary.

For now, lay down your burdens, for here you will find the respite you need to continue the work.  For now, find your breath, for here you may breathe easy.  Feel your beating heart, the pull that brought you here to be together this morning. Here is sacred community.

Come, let us worship together. Come, let us worship.
